Uber teams up with Xiaomi to deliver Mi Note phones on the same day of purchase in Asia
In Xiaomi’s normal online flash sales, customers have to eagerly wait for a long five working days to get their hands on a new phone. But now Uber teams up with Xiaomi to deliver Mi Note phones on the same day of purchase.
Yesterday, in a press release Xiaomi has explained the whole process as follows:
“Ordering a Mi Note follows the exact same process as calling for an Uber – users simply open the Uber app, use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select ‘Xiaomi’ (which shows Xiaomi-orange colored Uber cars on the map equipped to deliver the new smartphone), and hit request. Payment will be charged directly to the credit card tied to a rider’s Uber account and a Mi Note will be delivered to the user within a few minutes.”
Uber teams up with Xiaomi to deliver Mi Note phones and within 4 minutes of order placement, an Uber driver will be on his way to deliver the phone. The amount will be charged on the Uber account of a user and the phone will be delivered as soon as possible to his or her location.
Uber teams up with Xiaomi to deliver Mi Note phones will definitely help Xiaomi to market itself to more customers in southeast Asia. However, it is not clear that how many users in those regions use Uber services. But it is noteworthy that all local Uber users who will open the app on July 27 will see the orange Mi icon inviting them to place an order.
According to our sources, Uber has been testing a system in the U.S. for the past few months that would let online customers to get the delivery of goods through its drivers on the same day of purchase. Uber teams up with Xiaomi to deliver Mi Note phones on the same day of purchase will be available in Malaysia and Singapore on July 27th.
