TiVo- The DVR maker has unleashed a new service called ‘TiVo Online’ for its subscribers. This new service allows its users to stream both their live TV as well as DVR recordings over the web.

TiVo Online allows users to find their favorite TV shows they want to watch from a wide variety of streaming services including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube, Vudu, and many more and even their own cable line-up.

Even those who are not TiVo subscribers can just enter their ZIP code and simply search what TV shows are available in their area so that they can find where and when to watch something and that too at no cost.

Tom Rogers- CEO and President of TiVo said “The tools available today to find what viewers most want to watch across all sources of programs are not comprehensive, not personalized, or are difficult to use. There just isn’t a great way to hone in on exactly what you care about and are most interested in – until now with TiVo Online,”

Subscribers who actively use TiVo will find this Web Portal very useful because they can use it to create and edit OnePass season passes and can even move them from one DVR to another.

Premiere DVR and TiVo Roamio owners will be able to stream recordings in a browser on a desktop or a laptop if it is connected on the same network. Streaming recordings outside the home will be soon available this year.

TiVo also has apps for Android and iOS mobile users, which provide faster performance than the TiVo’s website and some amazing features for its subscribers. These features include the ability to stream recorded videos inside and outside the home, but for that their TiVo Roamio or TiVo Stream should be connected to the home network.
