Splatoon Creates Amiibos of Two Well Known Characters In-Game
After bringing Splatoon accessories to Miitomo, Nintendo took to Twitter to announce that it’s adding Callie and Marie to its lineup of Splatoon amiibos series on July 8, 2016, along with new colors of Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Inkling Squid amiibo figures.
The Squid Sisters will feature “delicious detail,” tasty textures,” and “savory sparkles” and unlock new musical performances. But it’s unknown, whether the new Inkling trio unlocks anything different than the original or not.
To showcase the new features a new trailer was also released. Take a look at it below.
What will these Squid Sisters figures do?
Like every amiibo, these two new ones will also have a special effect in the actual game. Callie and Marie will be able to play music and dance to that music in various cut scenes.
However, they won’t unlock new levels in Splatoon, and will not become playable characters (that’s sad).
Instead, the Amiibo will unlock dance performance videos and songs by the pair, which is befitting as the sisters are cast as pop singers in the game.
The new Splatoon Amiibos will be priced at..
Callie and Marie in some outrageously fashionable attire will be on sale for $24.99 in a bundle pack. They can also be purchased separately for $12.99 each.
They’ll be accompanied by the re-colored versions of the Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy packaged together. And Inkling Squid Amiibo with the first two will also be available in a set. They’ll also be available on July 8 for $34.99.
Splatoon has been one of the Wii U’s biggest success and this time again; it’ll not disappoint its avid fans and amiibo collectors.
And here’s a video of the Squid Sisters performing at Chokaigi 2016 in Japan. Enjoy!!
