Samsung and Red Hat Teams Up To Provide the Next Generation of Mobile Enterprise Applications

Samsung and Red Hat teams up to provide the next generation of mobile enterprise applications, following the footsteps of IBM and Apple. Both the companies will be able to deploy the apps on Red Hat’s new mobile application platform called RHMAP (Red Hat Mobile Application Platform). It is based on the technology the company gained from the acquisition of mobile tools vendor “FeedHenry” in September 2014.

According to the announcement made by Samsung and Redhat, they plan to deliver:

1. A series of mobile enterprise applications will be designed that will run on the Red Hat Mobile Application Platform (RHMAP) in such a way that they can be easily customized to match the unique requirements of an organization.
2. A developer ecosystem designed to support enterprise partners and developers to promote innovation and solutions that will meet both present and emerging needs in mobility.
3. Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) and a global delivery and integrated support services for customers and partners of the RHMAP.

As Red Hat is the world’s leading company that provides open source solutions, it will bring community credibility, flexibility and top-notch support for the mobile enterprise applications development and deployments on premise and across public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

According to the companies’ statements, the mobile enterprise applications will run on Android and other operating systems, and will be configurable to work with common back-end systems. Samsung and Red Hat will initially focus on the U.S and will promote the apps together.
