Now Sign Up Facebook Messenger Without An Facebook Account
Earlier this year, Facebook opened up Messenger to developers and now the Social Media Giant has rolled out another update for Facebook Messenger. The latest update will let the users to sign up Facebook Messenger without Facebook account, also they don’t even need an email address.
With the latest update of Messenger, when the users open the app they will see an additional option that says “Not on Facebook?” Users can then simply sign up for Facebook Messenger without Facebook account by using their phone number and name alone. They can also upload their photo and phone contacts to the app which will help them find their friends in easy way. This new feature is quite similar to other popular messaging services like WeChat, Kik and Facebook owned WhatsApp.
The company said in an official blog post “With this update, more people can enjoy all the features that are available on Messenger – including photos, videos, group chats, voice and video calling, stickers and more.”
Earlier this year Facebook introduced some new features in Facebook Messenger including payments feature, playing games, a new location sharing option, VOIP video calling and an app platform for sending sound clips and images to friends.
David Marcus, Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook said in an interview that Messenger’s next big projects include the launching of Messenger for Business system. It will allow online merchants to offer customer support through Messenger rather than emails or direct calls.
Facebook Messenger has over 700 million monthly users, and their latest move could bring in new users who have not yet used it. Initially the access to Facebook Messenger without Facebook accounts is limited to the users in Canada, the US, Venezuela and Peru.
