With Google Maps’ latest update, send directions directly from your Desktop to your Android Device using Google Maps. Earlier, users only need to type send directions into the Google search textbook, but most people probably didn’t know about it.

Now, if you head over to Google Maps through a desktop browser, you will now have the option of “Send to device” at the bottom of the card to send directions directly from your Desktop to your Android Device using Google Maps. If you click that option, it will bring up a list of supported phones and tablets linked to your Google account.

Some conditions to enable the feature to send directions directly from your Desktop to your Android Device using Google Maps:

Before using this feature, users will need to link up their Google account that they have signed in on the computer and their Android device, so they need to make sure they are logged into the same account. This feature can be enabled from Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer desktop browsers.

The new feature to send directions directly from your Desktop to your Android Device using Google Maps has some other conditions also. The first condition is that the Google Maps app on the mobile device, either on iOS or Android should be the latest version (4.8.0 for iOS, 9.11.0 for Android) for the option to appear on the desktop version of Google Maps. To make use of this feature on iOS, users need to make sure that Google Maps can use the notification facilities. Once the directions are sent, a notification will be popped up on the device displaying the address and an option to simply open Maps or start Navigation.
