Yesterday, Mozilla unleashed first public preview of Firefox for iOS, but the browser is only available for users in New Zealand.

Earlier, Mozilla had refused the idea of developing a browser for iOS, but iPhones are so popular that the company was forced to reconsider its decision. In May, 2015 Mozilla also conducted a limited beta test of Firefox for iOS.

Mozilla unleashed first public preview of Firefox for iOS and earlier this year in a blog post it said:

“We want to bring Firefox to every language, platform and device possible. Although we can’t bring the full Firefox experience and rendering engine to iOS due to the restrictions, we saw an opportunity with the latest improvements and tools in iOS 8 to begin development of a Firefox experience for iOS.”

The company said in an official blog that its goal is to create an amazing browsing experience for iOS users. With the first public preview of Firefox for iOS, Mozilla will be collecting feedback in New Zealand, before it rolls out the browser for a full public launch.

The preview released by the company features Intelligent Search, providing suggested search results along with the choice of search providers for users. Users are also given the option to take their Firefox browser history and passwords from their computers to iOS devices with their Firefox Accounts.

The first public preview of Firefox for iOS also includes Visual Tabs to keep track of users’ open tabs. Users can directly give their feedback to the company via an in-app message submittal system. After collecting the feedback from New Zealand users, Mozilla is planning to bring Firefox for iOS to the App Store worldwide. It will also help them to enhance the features of the browser
