The LinkedIn messaging service has finally seen an overhaul which was long overdue. The revamped service has added stickers, photos, GIFs and has gotten rid of the unpopular interface which resembled email.

The new feature has been rolled out for the 10% global users of English language who use Play Store and App Store and will soon be supported by various other languages in the weeks to come.

New Features of LinkedIn messaging service:

It is safe to say that LinkedIn is very late in launching a messaging product. The LinkedIn messaging service includes a “Request and Intro” function. You can use it to request an introduction with an individual from a profile page of mutual connections.

This would further take the user to a messaging template which is pre-populated and can be customized according to the user’s choice. The biggest drawback is the feature’s inability to forward attachments and images in the messages.

Coming Next:

The LinkedIn messaging service will soon be changed as LinkedIn announced that from today, for their social network, they will roll out a feature of messaging. The company claims to have restructured every single thing to provide users with a more streamlined and immaculate feel and look in order for them to begin or keep a dialogue going. Creation of groups will also be added in the feature so that users can ping in a group for coordinating a catch-up for the next conference.

Statement from LinkedIn:

“We’re hard at work to explore the possibilities of how we will extend this experience. We’re excited about concepts like intelligent messaging assistants that can help suggest people you should message….. We know we can put a unique LinkedIn spin on the kinds of conversations you are already having in a professional setting, like making introductions or debriefing after a meeting. The possibilities are endless and we look forward to continue iterating and enhancing the experience.”

Rolling out of the LinkedIn messaging service is going to take some time. So if you log in to your LinkedIn account and are unable to use the new functions, fret not, as the all of these new functions will reach you soon.
