Basically, the 2-FA app from the company adds an extra security layer to your LastPass account. Whenever you’ll login to the app, it’ll send a 6-digit, time-sensitive passcodes to access to your account. You’ll be able to login only after the verification of the second step.
This app is handy for those people who always logout of LastPass after they’re done with it or use a shared computer.
How to activate the new app with your LastPass account?
- Firstly, download the app on your smartphone.
- Login to LastPass on PC and open your vault.
- Open Account Settings.
- Edit LastPass Authenticator under the Multifactor Options.
- Follow the instructions given on screen
- Scan the barcode with the LastPass Authenticator app.
- Set preferences for your account and save the changes.
