HBO Now – Available via an Apple Device Near You
As of today HBO Now is available to people in the United States who own an Apple device or get their internet service from Cablevision.
HBO Now is a video streaming service. The service costs $14.99 per month though HBO is offering a free 30 day trail. All you need is an Apple TV, iPhone, or iPad to register via HBONow.com.
It’s no coincidence the launch has come head of the fifth season premiere of Game of Thrones which is HBO’s most popular series. The fifth session of Game of Thrones premieres on the 12th of April.
This is a major leap forward for HBO considering not long ago their parent company Time Warner said it had no intention of offering standalone subscriptions to end users.
This service is only available in the United States and this is the first time that HBO has ventured into the digital streaming market. Many people think that is “transformation” for HBO from a cable service to worldwide internet based streaming service.
Apple only has the monopoly on HBO Now for 3 months. After which time the service will be opened up to other digital service companies and devices including Amazon Fire, Sony PlayStation, Roku, etc.
