And yes, this isn’t any old website. The company has cleverly managed to obtain the most appropriate domain – Fast.com.

This is one of the best domain names for any Internet service, one could possibly have.

How to use Fast.com?

No technical knowledge is needed to use this tool.

Simply visit Fast.com and the site will immediately start calculating how fast or slow your current Internet download speed is.

We Love Netflix.
We Love Netflix.

Well, some more experienced Internet users might be wondering why the site is so darn simple in its approach.

They can get their answer on the information page, Netflix describes its new website as a simple-to-use way for the consumers to estimate what speed their ISP is providing.

How does the site work?

The site uses Netflix servers to test the user’s download speed and gives results no matter where the user and device (desktop or mobile) is.

Many consumers are already aware of other sites like SpeedTest.net, that offers detailed information on both your upload and download speeds.

However, the advertisement-cluttered website may turn off less techie users.

With a simple URL and clean look, Fast.com can quickly become a widely used speed tester for the mainstream audience.

Generally, Netflix recommends a speed 5.0 Mbps for HD video and of 3.0 Mbps for SD.

Netflix also maintains an ISP Speed Index, which ranks the performance of different ISPs.

However, Fast.com is different from Netflix ISP Speed Index.
