Facebook is frequently testing out new features to improve the user experience. Now, Facebook has added ‘See First’ feature to let users control their news feed, earlier this week they tested “Suggested Topics” feature to let users to come up with topics to talk about.

See First is a button that would be on user profiles and is exactly what it seems to look; it is a way by which users mark what they want to see first in their news feed, such as status posted by the friends they care most about rather than a friend you just met or the posts by the Pages they read often. Basically, what Facebook is doing here is giving its users more control over ranking their connections.

” We are always exploring new ways to improve the Facebook experience, and are currently running a small test of a feature that lets you indicate that you’d like to see posts from a specific person or Page at the top of your News Feed.” said Facebook’s spokesperson.

Earlier, Facebook News Feed settings menu lets users unfollow anyone instantly to eliminate their posts from their News Feed without unfriending them, but now it is much easier for them as they can select what they want to see at the top of their News Feed. See First feature is another way by which Facebook can collect data that it will use to make a more attractive pitch to its advertisers.

Facebook has been determined to refine its News Feed these days by hiding hoaxes and memes, showing people you frequently interact with and taking how long you look at a post into account while determining what to show you in the future.
