Ericsson Filed Suitcase Against Apple in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands

It is not new to hear technology companies facing each other through a lawsuit. After Apple settled its legal case with Samsung, Ericsson is now filing suits in the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Netherlands. The lawsuit is actually against the products of Apple.

In the statement given by Ericsson, it emphasized the fact that it had entered into a deal for it to participate in arbitration with Apple for the purpose of reaching a mutually beneficial global licensing agreement. The agreement is said to be for the standard-essential patents of Ericsson. Nonetheless, Ericsson added that this agreement has already expired.

According to Kassim Alfalahi, who is Ericsson’s chief intellectual property, Apple continues to use and benefit from the patent of Ericsson even without renewing its agreement. He also said that their team is confident that they will win the lawsuit against Apple in the countries of the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Netherlands. What Ericsson wants is to resolve this matter as soon as possible in the fairest possible way.

In Europe, it is a crucial and natural law to support and protect the company’s investment in R&D. This is why Ericsson feels very confident about winning the case. Well, obviously, the court will definitely be in favor of the one who is at the disadvantage and at the same time, who has a valid reason.
