CEO of OnePlus confirmed that Oneplus 2 will cost less than $450
Few days back OnePlus created buzz in the market by offering Google Cardboard VR headset for free. We have been hearing about the build and specs of OnePlus 2 from the past month. Now, the CEO of OnePlus confirmed that Oneplus 2 will cost less than $450 is also creating a buzz in the market.
Earlier, the Chinese startup had tipped the prices of OnePlus 2 on two instances. Once it said that the price of OnePlus 2 would be higher than $322, the second time, OnePlus CEO hinted that the price of the OnePlus 2 would be around $400.
“I can promise that the OnePlus 2 will be priced under 450 USD. We’ve seen price estimates for the #OnePlus2 upwards of $500. But, we made a promise to our users. Honestly, it’s never been about the price. We simply make the best smartphones we can, and we go from there,” said Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus.
Confirmed features in OnePlus 2
This is great news for consumers, especially considering the strong specs OnePlus 2 is expected to boast. Oneplus has already confirmed that the latest flagship model will sport USB Type-C, an improved version of Snapdragon 810 processor (with resolved overheating issue) and a fingerprint scanner. OnePlus also claims that the fingerprint sensor in OnePlus 2 will be better than Apple’s implementation of TouchID.
Last month, the company reduced the price of OnePlus One in the US and some European countries. After the price cut, the 16GB variant of OnePlus One was priced at $249 in the US while the 64GB variant of OnePlus One was priced at $299 in the US. Now, the CEO of OnePlus confirmed that Oneplus 2 will cost less than $450. OnePlus 2 will be officially unveiled on 27 July in a virtual reality event.
