The Xperia Z4: Sony’s latest Flagship Smartphone Revealed
In a public announcement made in Japanese, Sony revealed their latest flagship Smartphone today. Right now, Sony has not given a date for the launch for both local and international.
Like the Z3, the Xperia Z4 is also similar with a same 5.2-inch screen but with a thinner 6.9mm form, the smartphone has a Snapdragon 810 processor which gives a processing power of 2GHZ, however, the processor is eight-core and 64bit. The camera (rear) has a powerful 20.7 megapixels while the front camera has been upgraded with a wide-angle lens. Sony has also included 3GB RAM with an Android lollipop platform.
Sony is known in the market for their dust and water resistant smartphones. The Xperia Z4 is a robust and durable device. Sony’s main competitor Samsung might also look into this feature and their S6 flagship smartphone is not water and dust resistant.
There are rumors that Sony might throw in the towel, they are making a decision on whether they should stay in the smartphone industry or not. There is a possibility of this in the future as Sony goes through its restructuring.
The Xperia Z4 is a repetition of Sony’s previous smartphone products but has received positive reviews. However, the sales of Sony’s smartphones does not reflect that and Sony might need more than the Xperia Z4 to get itself out of this and compete with Samsung and Apple.
Xperia fans are still waiting for the Z4; let’s see how Sony plays this one.
