Like Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts Has its own website now!
Google seems to be putting a lot of effort in research and development. Today they made two huge announcements in the world of tech. First being the name of the latest Android OS – Android Marshmallow (Of course! We guessed it right!).
The second announcement may excite you if you are an ardent user of Google Hangouts. They have now come up with a website solely dedicated to Google Hangouts. The main differences between Hangouts on Gmail and the website are a large contact list and a random wallpaper selection. The interface is more or less similar.
Jordanna Chord, software engineer at Google made the announcement on her Google+ account :
“From our new site you’ll be able to take advantage of the best of Hangouts in the browser, along with an inspiring image to get you through the day.”
It is interesting how the product hasn’t broken away from the domain of Google. It is also surprising why it has taken so long for Google to come up with a separate website for Google Hangouts since it is a core part of the Google’s ecosystem.
It is a welcome change and will find support and success among users who want to access their conversations without putting up with the risk of someone seeing your Google+ account or email OR those who simply like to chat without the mess that accompanies social media and email.
