Oracle announced at a live event in California that they will be launching more than 24 new cloud services for Oracle Cloud Platform. Oracle said that their new archive storage service will compete with Amazon Glacier and the price of their service will be one-tenth their price.

Archive Storage Cloud is only one of the various new offerings introduced for its cloud platform. Other Cloud services introduced were Oracle Database Cloud – Exadata, Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle Big Data Cloud, Oracle Process Cloud and Oracle Mobile Cloud. The Oracle Cloud Platform extends Oracle’s leadership with the world’s deepest and broadest portfolio of PaaS, IaaS and SaaS with the introduction of new cloud services.

Larry Ellison, Executive Chairman and CTO of Oracle Corporation said “We’re now able to call our cloud services complete, with today’s announcement. You can now move all your applications out of the data center and into the Oracle cloud.”

He also said that the company targets on delivering an integrated suite of Platform as a Service (PaaS) packages which will make it very easy for the enterprises to move their applications and data to the Oracle Cloud Platform.

Oracle Cloud Platform helps the customers to develop new applications, expanding the existing ones and easily move existing on-premises workloads to the cloud without application charges.

The new Mobile Cloud Service by Oracle deals with the issue of enterprise mobility, providing next generation mobile backend as a service which reduces the cost of mobile app development, while Integration Cloud Service simplifies integration between on-premise Oracle, cloud and third-party applications.

Oracle Cloud Platform is growing exponentially and is already powering some of the world renowned brands. Oracle Cloud Platform has more than 1,800 customers out of which 1,419 were added in the last quarter. Avaya, Calix and Australian Finance Group are a few of the many organizations using already existing Oracle Cloud Platform services, including the Java Cloud, Business Intelligence Cloud, Documents Cloud and the Database Backup Service.
