Microsoft has mentioned many times that it’s new Windows 10 operating system will be capable of running on many different devices so it is no surprise that when it came to naming the different subtle versions it’s pretty self-explanatory.
Here are the different versions Microsoft has come up with:

• Windows 10 Home – Consumer focused Desktop edition.
• Windows 10 Mobile – For smaller, mobile, touch centric devices like smartphones and small tablets.
• Windows 10 Pro – More advanced Desktop edition for PCs, tablets and 2-in-1’s.
• Windows 10 Enterprise – Builds on Windows 10 Pro by adding advanced features.
• Windows 10 Education – Builds on Windows 10 Enterprise and is specially priced for schools.
• Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise – Builds on Windows 10 Mobile by adding advanced features.
• Windows 10 IoT Core – Has a small footprint designed for ATM’s, retail point sales and low cost gateways etc.

Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Mobile, and Windows 10 Pro will be offered as free upgrades from qualifying Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices in the first year after launch.

Microsoft has said they are still making strong progress with Windows 10 and are still on track for a Summer release.

There are currently around 3.0 million beta testers using Windows 10 which are providing Microsoft with valuable feedback to try and make Windows 10 the best Windows Operating System to date.
